The main aim of our cooking lessons is to prepare our young people for independent living. By the end of Year 11 students will be able to plan, source, prepare and cook healthy and economical meals.
Our curriculum is also designed to allow the students access to qualifications, college courses, and/or employment. Students learn a wide range of skills and are taught to work safely in a kitchen using kitchen tools.
From Year 7 onwards students work on developing independence where they will quickly develop the skills needed to follow and adapt recipes to meet different tastes. They are introduced to a wide variety of ingredients and cook food that is influenced by many different cultures.
To give the course purpose the students often cook for the staff at Infiniti school and can take their meals home to share with family members if they wish to do so.
The cooking experience at Infiniti school allows students to develop creativity, knowledge, and skills in a safe and nurturing environment.
