Maths

At Infiniti School we work extremely hard to help and improve the learning experience for our young people in mathematics. We design Maths lessons to be taught in mixed abilities groups and plan lively and engaging activities to improve the learners’ problem-solving and reasoning skills in readiness for challenges in the future.

All students study a wide range of mathematical disciplines.  We cover number skills work along with algebra, ratio and proportion, shape and space, and data handling.  Students cover each discipline at a level appropriate to their prior learning. Students then make links between the disciplines and apply the skills taught in a variety of problem-solving activities.

On starting here our student's complete baseline assessments which allow us to plan for their individual needs. The KS3 curriculum will consolidate and build on the key themes studied in the years previous, including in KS2, in preparation for the requirements of the KS4 curriculum. In KS4 our students’ will consolidate and extend the differing areas of mathematics, and study for Functional Skills qualifications at levels 1 and 2, as well as GCSE Mathematics.
