The aim at Infiniti school is to give every child the best sporting opportunity, catering for a complexity of needs whilst endeavoring to help each individual fulfil their true potential.
How do we achieve this?
By providing a wide range of sporting disciplines in our lovely grounds or visiting purpose-built venues and sports halls. We believe in achieving this through a committed, professional and caring team of PE and support staff. PE is mixed and taught in year groups.
We run regular PE lessons throughout pupils’ time at Infiniti, with all pupils engaging in two or more lessons a week. This can be on or off site depending on the needs and the activity that has been planned for.
The PE Curriculum
In KS3, pupils participate in a number of sports and activities within their core PE lessons. They will also go offsite for an OAA afternoon which also keeps them active and engaged in the outdoors.
In KS4, pupils have the option to participate in a BTEC course for which they can receive a qualification.
Whilst completing the PE curriculum pupils will be put forward for individualised AQA unit awards, to highlight their progress and achievement over a period of time.
We understand that not everyone finds all sports easy to learn or engaging but we provide those that do enjoy it with the chance to represent Infiniti school in local football matches against other, similar schools. Every child at Infiniti has the opportunity to represent the school in a match should they wish, which exemplifies our aim as a PE department. Pupils may occasionally be asked to write and read a match report after a fixture or tournament in the next achievement assembly to encourage their public speaking and team spirit, while also informing the rest of the school about their achievements. A copy of this match report will be included in the next newsletter to be sent home.
We offer a wide variety of activities throughout each academic year to engage and cater for as many of our pupils as possible. If there are specific needs and talents of children we will endeavour to support them in their passion, training and competition where possible.
